The most frequent causes of infertility in women are the lack of ovulation which can be due to various types of problems such as polycystic ovary syndrome.
The closure or poor function of the tubes can prevent the egg from meeting the sperm.
This condition can be caused by infections or by the presence of endometriosis, a frequent disease in which scars and inflammation form mainly at the ovarian level, near the tubes and the uterus.
The uterus itself can present fibroids and malformations which in some cases hinder or prevent pregnancy.
In men, infectious events, varicocele (a varicose dilation of the veins around the testicles), trauma or more rarely genetic problems can lead to damage to the male reproductive organs and a reduction in the number and quality of sperm. It is also necessary to know that in approximately 15% of cases the cause of infertility is unexplained.
This, however, does not mean that there are no treatments for having a child
