Major causes of male infertility

The major causes of male infertility occur after birth and among these are varicoceles and infections of the reproductive system.

Even those of unknown origin are relevant because they represent 40% of all.

More rarely, the causes of infertility in males arise already at birth, such as the failure of the testicle to descend into the scrotum (cryptorchidism).

Then there are even rarer ones such as some genetic diseases (Klinefelter Syndrome).

Finally, radio and chemotherapy for certain types of cancer or harmful environmental factors can significantly damage the testicles and sperm production.
