Oligospermia, asthenospermia and teratospermia

OLIGOSPERMIA, ASTHENOSPERMIA AND TERATOSPERMIA With the spermiogram some important alterations can be observed according to the most recent criteria of the World Health Organization: OLIGOSPERMIA i.e. a number of spermatozoa lower than normal i.e. a concentration per milliliter lower than 12-15 million ASTHENOSPERMIA i.e. a percentage of spermatozoa that move well i.e. progressively less than 30% of all the spermatozoa present TERATOSPERMIA when there is a percentage of spermatozoa with a normal shape below 4%. Sometimes all these anomalies can coexist and we speak of OLIGO-ASTENO-TERATOSPERMIA.
