After 5 years of research and 3 IVF our first positive has arrived and we can only thank Prof for this.
Manna, his staff, Cettina and also Doctor Verbicaro. I will tell you our story in the shortest way possible, hoping to be able to help and encourage those of us who have not yet succeeded.
After two failed attempts, the meeting with Prof Manna and his team. As I told you, this was our third attempt, the first that we did completely with Prof Manna, after a first IVF done at another center and a second transfer done with Prof.
Manna but with the embryos cryopreserved after the stimulation carried out at the first center.
I won't tell you on an emotional level how we set out to face this third journey, mood under our feet, zero enthusiasm and a lot of fear of yet another negative.
Following the Professor's advice, we decide to also have Doctor Verbicaro follow us, precisely to support us on an emotional level.
I really believe that she couldn't have given us a better suggestion, within us we think that a good part of the credit for the success of this attempt goes to her, she managed to make me accept this situation and face this path in the best possible way.
There is no shortage of surprises. It was a journey not without unexpected events, even at a certain point there was the possibility of not making it to the pick-up due to the risk of hyperstimulation.
The Prof., however, managed to drive our car, as he says, and get the situation back so we arrived on 11/30 for the pick-up and even on 12/02 for the transfer on the 2nd day of 3 embryos, of good quality but not excellent precisely due to my polycystic ovary.
I am pleased to share with you an anecdote from the day of the transfer which from my point of view is very suggestive: during the ultrasound-guided transfer the biologist realized that one of the three embryos had remained inside the "canulin" (I don't think this is the correct term but I think it is understandable) and therefore they had to reinsert it.
Well, in that precise moment I felt a wonderful sensation, I got goosebumps and I thought to myself: if an embryo attaches, the one that attaches will be it.
Whether it's him or not we haven't been able to reconstruct it for sure but finally at the beta on December 13th our first positive.
The miracle happened! Our little embryo has attached itself strongly to me and I am now in the 14th week.
He's doing great, we just learned that he's a handsome boy and we're really super happy! If I may allow myself to give some advice based on our experience, rely on someone who truly follows you 360°, for whom there is no Saturday or Sunday, as the Professor did with us, all this makes the difference!!!
